1. Minutes

The minutes for the meeting on 7 November 2006 were signed as a true record of the meeting.

3.1  Access to Mrs Balderston’s Property

4. Parish Plan

An item on this has been included in the village newsletter due to be published in mid December. Parishioners have until the end of December to return a slip expressing their interest in producing a parish plan.

 

 

5. Proposed Changes to the Postal Service

The Chairman has written a letter of support for the existing postal service arrangements to David Ball, the district Councillors, the local MP and the village postwomen. To date there has been no response.

7. Tree Felling

JP reported that a silver birch tree in the village had been cut down without permission. Mr Venton from DDC and as a result the tree was required to be replanted.

SH informed the Council of various training courses being held by NALC.  KN & SH to be booked onto the Planning course in February. SH to order a copy of the book entitled The Parish Councillor’s Guide

9. Bus Service

PN informed the council that the bus service was to be changed although it would not

Be cancelled. PN to arrange for Mark Butler to attend the next parish council meeting on Tuesday 9 January and the meeting to start at the earlier time of 7.00pm to cater for this.  PN to arrange for a flyer to be sent out with the village newsletter publicising the event. As concerns have been raised by a parishioner. re. the cost of a bus shelter being included  in the budget, a vote would be held to ascertain whether the village would like to have a bus shelter. Provision for the shelter to be included in the precept if required.

10.  Village Newsletter

 A draft has been produced and been sent off for printing.  Councillors JP and RG agreed to assist with distributing the newsletter

11.1  Village Hall

11.2  Everdon Field Centre

 No decision has been made on funding for Everdon Field Centre although the premises are now being redecorated.

Local MP Tim Boswell is visiting the Centre on 15 December.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

11.3 Highway Matters

11. 3.1 Lime Tree – The Gables

All paperwork completed to carry out work to raise the canopy of these tress. SH to obtain 3 quotes for the work from Michael Pell, Stamford Tree Services and Mark Hobbs

 

11.3.2 Parking at Long Row Cottages

12 2  Audit Report

The audit report was discussed. As a result it was agreed to raise the level of fidelity insurance in the light of the bank balances held by the council

 

12.3  Accounts 06/07 Update & Bank Reconciliation

These showed that the current balance held by the Council is £5086

 

12.4  Budget/Precept

A draft budget was presented and discussed. It was agreed to increase insurance to £500 and lighting to £650. A final draft of the budget is to be brought to the next meeting. The proposed precept is £3000 unless funds need to be allocated for provision of a bus shelter. The budget/precept needs to be submitted by 17 January 2007

An additional planning meeting to discuss the planning application for the Plume and Feathers to be held on Wednesday 13 December at 6.30pm at Brook House, 21 Stubbs Rd
