2. Minutes

The minutes for 13 February 2007 were signed as a true record of the meeting.

3. Village Issues

PN has identified a number of issues that have been raised by parishioners as a result of feedback to the parish plan. The following actions were agreed:

 

 

 

Church as Musical Venue

PN to discuss with Doreen Bodily ( as secretary to the PCC) initially to gauge what would be considered appropriate

PN to circulate an email with ideas on what the pack could contain.

Village Maintenance

PN is arranging a visit with the community engineer from DDC to review state of paths & steps etc with a view to producing a development plan and also to ascertain how any work could be funded. PN will circulate details of the visit and any councillors who are interested, are welcome to attend

This is being dealt with under a separate agenda item

 

 

4.Training/Seminars

JC reported back on the FEMALC seminar and KN & SH on the NALC Planning

session.

5.Matters arising

 

5.1  Access to Mrs Balderston’s Property

KN has obtained a site map. He will contact Atkins to ascertain ownership of the land.

PN has written again but not received any response. Rhona has a meeting with her managers next week.

Training

JP & RG to attend the training session “Off to a Flying Start” (for new councillors) on 29 May from 7 – 9.15pm

 

KN to attend the training session “Role of Chairman” as PN unable to attend on 23 May 07 from 7 – 9.15pm

 

It was agreed to purchase the New Guide – Planning for Local Councils – via DDC at a cost of £10 (rather than £20) – deadline 14 March

  2. Legal Topic Note on Local Council Elections in England & Wales

8.1  Village Hall

JP unable to attend the meeting and has not yet received the minutes

 

8.2  Everdon Field Centre

Nothing to report.

 

 

8.3 Highway Matters

9.3.1 Lime Tree – The Gables

All paperwork completed to carry out work to raise the canopy of the trees.  M Pell has this matter in hand

 

8.3.2 Parking at Long Row Close

PN spoke to the Highways who said to contact the police which PN has done. The police send someone out to check on the situation

 

8.3.3 Parking on the Green

It has been brought to the council’s attention that there a number of vehicles have been parking on the village green causing damage. It was decided to keep an eye on this to see whether it was a continuing problem

8.4 Grass Mowing

Three contractors - GCN, David Banner & Dominic Cawley - have provided quotes. It was agreed at the meeting that GCN should be appointed the contractor and that he should be contracted to provide ten cuts per year for both the verges and the green. SH to draft and send letter confirming contract.

 

SH has contacted Atkins to request that the areas for grass mowing are measured as Atkins do not appear to have an accurate figure. Atkins to carry out work this week

These showed that the current balance held by the Council is £4366 (as at 28 February 2007)

10. Date of Next Meeting

 

Next meeting is to be held at 7.30pm on Monday 2 April 2007 in the Village Hall
